EPMF joins industry call for urgent action on EU competitiveness
For another year, the European Precious Metals Federation has joined the Antwerp Declaration community, alongside leaders from across Europe’s industrial value chains, to underline a clear message: there is no resilient and strong Europe without a strong European industry.
At the Antwerp summit, EPMF contributed to discussions with EU leaders on restoring Europe’s competitiveness and strengthening the conditions for investment. For the precious metals sector, this is essential to support resilience, strategic autonomy and the clean transition, including through recycling, refining and circular supply of critical materials.
Ahead of the European Council retreat on competitiveness in Alden Biesen, the Antwerp Declaration community is calling for urgent and bold action and for Emergency Industrial Policy Measures that deliver results in 2026. The Call to Action highlights three priorities: reducing energy and carbon costs, supporting fair trade and improved access to finance, and strengthening demand for products made in Europe, alongside a stronger and less fragmented Single Market.
The EPMF will continue to engage with EU policymakers and partners to support timely, practical measures that strengthen European competitiveness, investment conditions and strategic resilience.
