SETAC Europe 35th Annual Meeting
From 11-15 May 2025, the EPMF, represented by Jelle Mertens and Tina Liesirova, is participating in the SETAC Europe 35th Annual Meeting in Vienna, Austria. This year’s theme, “Innovation for Tomorrow: Progress in Safe and Sustainable Concepts”, will explore how safety and sustainability must be essential considerations of innovation. Discussions will focus on how the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) concept can be effectively implemented and help European industries drive meaningful change and ensure a safe and sustainable future.
Jelle Mertens and Tina Liesirova co-authored two posters that will be presented at the meeting:
– Algal acute toxicity of Silver Cyanide in freshwater environment.
– Aquatic toxicity of palladium: A grouping and read-across approach for some palladium substances and why others need separate assessments.
The EPMF is happy to contribute to the broader discussion on the safe and sustainable by design concept, environmental protection, and improved chemical risk assessment. We are committed to contributing to high-quality science to support the sustainable use of precious metals.
