Substances

Precious metals and their compounds

EPMF maintains an open-access listing of all precious metal substances and their compounds to facilitate and encourage compliance with chemicals management legislation by manufacturers, importers, and downstream users throughout the EU. The information for each group of substances is managed by a platform of industry specialists and the names of the Chairpersons and Responsible Secretariat Officer for the platforms are provided.

The EPMF is continuously maintaining its EU REACH registration dossiers. Main triggers for dossier updates are an increase of tonnage band (and the associated additional requirements), new data generated to fill identified data gaps (via testing proposals), the availability of new scientific data (in peer-reviewed literature or via industry testing), or changes in the EU Regulations. The EPMF aims to minimize vertebrate testing where possible via the use of grouping and read-across approaches and the use of non-vertebrate testing approaches where possible.

Each of the linked images below leads to a page which lists the status of registration, the inventory of substances, the Identification Card for each metal or metal compound, and the list of identified uses and their Exposure Scenarios when relevant.
